The freedom of a simple camera with a plastic lens lets the photographer concentrate on composition.

During the 2020 lockdown I bought my first Holga, a 120N. After a few customisations like spraying the inside matt black and adding the mandatory black tape, I have enjoyed the freedom of shooting with a single shutter speed, two apertures and the unique character of the plastic lens. The images are in my favourite 6x6 square format. I have since added a second Holga to my collection, a 120 WPC, 6x12 pinhole camera.

The images below are all from a single roll shot on the same day whilst walking along sections of the Fylde coast. This may become the start of a larger project. All images were made on Ilford HP5 and shot with an orange filter.
