Photographer, based in Lancashire, UK

Welcome to my collection of photography from around the UK, with a focus mainly on Northern England.

I am a landscape photography enthusiast from Lancashire in the North West of England, UK. My passion for photography developed from an early age, with the encouragement of my late Dad, who was a keen portrait enthusiast. Whilst in my teens, he taught me how to develop and print black and white images in the darkroom. I have a love of monochrome images, still using mainly film, and occasional digital, formats. For me, a silver gelatin print remains the ultimate way of presenting black and white images.

Creatively I have been inspired by landscape photographers who exhibit high technical standards combined with the use of light and composition to make great images, especially the iconic Ansel Adams. The British photographers Fay Godwin, Joe Cornish, David Noton, David Ward and the stunning, atmospheric black & white landscapes of Don McCullin are also key influences.
