January 2023
This is the first time that I have participated in The Frugal Film Project. I looked for a cheap camera on eBay that would be suitable and purchased a Voigtlander Vito CL, a 35mm camera which was made between 1961 and 1967. The selenium light meter is dead but that’s not a problem as many of my film cameras do not have built in meters. As my frugal film, I chose Ilford’s Kentmere 400 and look forward to shooting it at various ISOs and developing it in a variety of developers during the coming year.
My first roll, for January, confirmed that the camera was working OK with a functioning shutter and no light leaks. This roll was shot in two halves, the first at ISO 1600 with a 2 hour stand development in Rodinal 1+100, which are the night images. The second half was exposed at box speed and developed in Kodak Xtol 1+1.
